Please be aware that, the Government has introduced the "Increased Cost of Business" (ICOB) Grant 2024 to support businesses offset some of the increases in their operating costs. Eligible businesses will receive a once-off grant payment. The amount of the grant is based on the value of the 2023 Commercial Rates bill for the property your business occupies. It is important to note that this grant is not a Commercial Rates waiver, and businesses must continue to pay their Commercial Rates as normal. How much is the grant ? The grant is based on the value of the Commercial Rates bill received by an eligible business in 2023. 2023- Commercial Rate bill is less than €10k: the ICOB grant will be paid at a rate of 50% of the value of the rate bill in 2023. 2023- Commercial Rate bill is between €10k and €30k: the ICOB grant will be €5k. 2023- Commercial Rates bill greater than €30k- no grant available. Further Details The grant is being administered by County Councils and eligible businesses should receive a letter from their local County Council with details on how to apply for the grant. Businesses can also use the ICOB portal to register which is available at mycoco.ie/icob. Closing Date: The deadline for businesses to confirm eligibility and upload verification details is 1st May 2024. The portal opened on 14th March for applications and early registration is recommended.
